Because your love is better than life

I was looking through my notebook when I saw this Bible verse which I copied into my notebook some time ago.
Psalm 63:3-5
" Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.
I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.
My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you."

I read this Bible verse during a period of time when I was going through a lot of stress. Indeed, it is important for us to remember that God loves us, and that alone is something to be happy about. This verse was fresh in my mind the next morning and I felt my stress melt away :D

HAPPY OX YEAR!

hello guys 8)

Wishing all of you a blessed and prosperous chinese new year!

I received an sms greeting from one of my cell members this morning, and I thought that it was really encouraging:

祝你:

心想事成- Psalms 37:4 "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart."

万事如意- Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose."

岁岁平安- Philippians 4:7 "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."

事业有成- Jeremiah 29:11 "'For I know the plans I have for you.' declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Yup, so let's put our faith and hopes for this year into God's hands, trusting and believing that He will carry us through the good and bad times, and knowing that He is always in control (:

Isn't it encouraging to know that we have a great and mighty God whom we can rely on and trust in?

I urge you to claim these promises in faith (the verses), and during your CNY visitations and such, do keep in mind that you're a representative of Christ and living testimony as a Christian :D Spread God's love to those around you!!

Have a great break, don't forget QT and hope you'll have a wonderful CNY spending time and fellowshipping with your loved ones!

In His love,
Nicole! 8)

I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples

Psalm 57: 7-11
My heart is steadfast, O God,
my heart is steadfast;
I will sing and make music.
Awake, my soul!
Awake, harp and lyre!
I will awaken the dawn.

I will praise you, O Lord, among the
nations;
I will sing of you among the peoples.
For great is your love, reaching to the
heavens;
your faithfulness reaches to the
skies.
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
let your glory be over all the earth.

Truly, God has been good to us. Thank you, Lord, for the work you have done in our lives, in this ministry, the strength you have given us to keep persevering on, and the answering of our fervent prayers, in ways more wonderful and fulfilled than we could ever imagine.

Indeed, like the little boy who surrendered his five loaves and two fishes to Jesus, when we surrender our lives to him, truly He will bless us and those around us tenfold! He works in awesome ways =)

Just read Psalms 57, and thought it really captured all that I was feeling yesterday, Friday morning at FireAC worship. Truly, thank God for the wonderful sisters who led worship yesterday! We can see God glorified through your lives =) It's been such a long time since worship was so powerful... I don't know how many of you have felt that way before. Just that feeling of pouring your heart and soul out into the singing, and with each word that falls from your lips, just giving it as a humble offering to the Lord, empowered by the words, feeling the love and power of the Holy Spirit just moving in and through you as the chorus of voices all around rises in praise... That was true worship =)

Father Lord, one day the whole of ACS will lift their hands in such true worship every Monday morning. One day, devotions will be a time of honest, open sharing of hearts, a time to be recharged by God's word for the day. One day, people will gather in groups, whether in their classes or CCAs, in fervent prayer for the lost souls of this school. One day, every person that steps through this school will see the words of the Lord engraved on its walls being lived out in every ACSian.

Brothers and sisters, what we witnessed yesterday morning at FireAC, is only a glimpse of the future glory to come, given by our ever loving God who truly provides.

For those who may have just stumbled upon this blog, do join us, FireAC  7AM every morning, by the IB fountain for a time of worship and heartfelt sharing with your brothers and sisters in Christ. Singspiration is every Friday =)

And to my fellow workers in the ministry, lets always remember these moments and look forward to the next! Lets not forget the joy of this moment, and face the trials and hardships to come boldly knowing the Lord is by our side!

God bless you all,

Petrina

God is THE strength

Yo sup all!=]

just thought i'd post some stuff on this here blog,

recently i've been hit by somewhat of a road block, or rather, a mental block if you will. i didnt manage to sense the presence and the guiding hand of God as strongly as i used to , and i didnt really feel the prevalent and invasive power of the Holy Spirit as i once did.

i was trying to think about what went wrong. it was quite a simple problem really, in a sense straightforward. everytime i tried to praise the Lord or pray to Him, i didnt feel any spirit that was willing and hence didnt do so. i still am reeling from some of this but i daresay God has shown me again that He exists and that He is watching out for me.

i've always loved this song, You are my All in All. It's one of the most reassuring songs that i can think of, and always a joy for me to sing.

Jesus You’re the Lamb of God (Worthy Lamb of God)
Worthy Is Your Name (Worthy Is Jesus, worthy is)
Jesus You’re the Lamb of God (Worthy Lamb of God)
Worthy is Your name

You are my strength when I am weak (Jesus Lamb of God)
You are the treasure that I seek (Worthy is Your Name)
You are my all in all
Seeking you as a precious jewel (Jesus Lamb of God)
To give up I’d be a fool (Worthy is Your Name)
You are my all in all

Taking my sin my cross my shame (Jesus Lamb of God)
Rising again I bless Your name (Worthy is Your Name)
You are my all in all
When I fall down You pick me up (Jesus Lamb of God)
When I am dry You fill my cup (Worthy is Your Name)
You are my all in all

Jesus You’re the Lamb of God (Worthy Lamb of God)
Worthy Is Your Name (Worthy Is Jesus)
Jesus You’re the Lamb of God (Worthy Lamb of God)
Worthy is Your name
Worthy is Your name
Worthy is Your name

indeed, i've yet to come across a song that proclaims the reassurance in the Spirit so directly. 20 minutes ago, i was praying for the Lord to try to give me a hint as to what was going on, to let me know what to do. I was pretty desperate and quite flustered, hence couldnt really quieten down and draw sufficient focus to Him.

However, He gave me this song to ring in my head. this particular song that i once performed for church when i was in kindergarten, when i just did it because the actions were interesting. when i looked yet again at the lyrics, i was really touched and reminded as to how much i matter to God.

He's my strength whenever i weaken, He fills me when im dry, He took my sin my cross and my shame, therefore, i bless His Name.

Indeed, Praise the Lord, for He is real.

God Bless,

~keson

Passion To Serve!

Hello my fellow penguins <3

Yes I do agree with the monkey pinoy that this blog is becoming quite dead! So let's get some of the passion of serving the Lord back into this space!

Just thought I'd share here again a short sharing I sent via email a while back, as an encouragement to my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, to continue to serve faithfully in the ministry where ever they are, regardless in their personal lives, in school or at church! Here goes:

Sometimes in the ministry, both personal or otherwise, we may get stressed feeling how we haven't done enough for God, worrying about how much more needs to be done, worrying about what we can do in the first place... that we lose sight of who we are truly serving. And this all stems unconsciously from forgetting just how much God loves us. So let's remember that truly, we love because our heavenly Father first loved us! And He loves us despite everything, all our fears and failures.

In Matthew 3:16-17 "As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting upon him. And a voice from heaven said, "This is my son, whom I love, with him I am well pleased." God said this to Jesus, even before Jesus had started his ministry!

We don't have to do anything to deserve God's love. He loves us not because of what we do, but because of who we are in Christ. So, in our attitudes towards ministry, whether it be in our personal lives or in church or in school, lets always remember to come into it with a joyful hearts, wanting to discover more and more just how much He loves us and what He can do in our lives, and to share this joy with the people around us.

Our heavenly Father has also blessed us with many gifts, different for all of us, so that together we can share the joy and love of Christ in new and exciting ways! If you're worrying about what gifts you may have, remember the miracle of the feeding of the five thousand. All the little boy had was two loaves and five fishes, and Jesus used these gifts, no matter how small they may have seemed, to bring about a miracle beyond human imagination! Similarly, in serving in the ministry, God will never ask of us what we do not have, for He has given it to us already, and rather all that matters is what we are willing to offer. The Lord can use us in ways too wonderful for us to imagine, once we surrender our lives to him! And in Christ, surrendering is not giving up, but rather giving in, letting go, and letting God =)

James 1: 5-6 "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt. because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind."
If you are unsure about what gifts you may have to offer to God, just pray and ask the Lord about it. Ask him to give you confidence to use these gifts, and perhaps even to grant you wisdom and new gifts to serve him with =)

Always praying for you all,
God bless,
Pet =)

And also, always remain to trust in Him, for truly He works in wonderful ways, and for the good of those who love Him, and who He has called according to His purpose =) and as it says in Isaiah 55:8 "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways," declares the LORD." Truly how wonderful it is to know we have a heavenly Father who is sovereign in everything, and knows what is best for us!

Oh Oh and on a side note, I have recently discovered a WEALTH of Christian books belonging to my grandparents. On almost every subject imaginable, how to set up a prayer group, evangelizing to other faiths, why is there suffering, perseverance in trials, tips for christian leaders, guide to Hebrews... Will start a catalogue soon. So. If any of you need anything, feel free to ask me and I'm sure I'll find something related =) Contact petguin@gmail.com for more details.

P.S. Book loans as stated above are free of charge. No interest rates or processing fees apply =) The Word of the Lord is a gift given freely! =)))

Petrina
